Travis Scott remains in custody after altercation with security guard

PARIS (AP) — The rapper Travis Scott He remained in custody after his arrest at a Paris hotel following an altercation with a security guard, French prosecutors said on Saturday.

According to a statement from the Paris prosecutor’s office, Scott’s custody was extended Friday evening. He did not provide further details. The police are continuing their investigation.

Scott’s U.S.-based representative and his lawyer did not immediately respond to questions from The Associated Press about the development.

Travis Scott was arrested early Friday after police were called to the Georges V Hotel to arrest a man “nicknamed Travis Scott for assaulting a security guard,” according to a prosecutor’s statement. The hotel security guard had intervened during an altercation between the rapper and his bodyguard.

After Friday’s arrest, a representative for the rapper said they were “in direct communication with local Paris authorities to resolve this matter expeditiously and will provide updates when appropriate.” The representative spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation was ongoing.

He has two children with his former girlfriend, media personality and businesswoman Kylie Jenner.

In June, Scott was arrested in Miami Beach on misdemeanor trespassing and public intoxication charges after officers said they found him in the city’s marina yelling obscenities at people on a yacht and disobeying their orders to leave.
