Taylor Swift gave her boyfriend Travis Kelce some advice before taking the stage in front of thousands at the Kelce Jam on Saturday.
Speaking exclusively to Page Six, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end revealed that the hitmaker told him to “just go out and have fun.”
“I’d be an idiot if I tried to imitate what she does!” ” the 34-year-old joked on the red carpet ahead of the music festival, hosted by Jim Beam.
More than 20,000 fans flocked to the Azura Amphitheater in Kansas City, Mo., this weekend for the second annual Kelce Jam, which featured performances from Lil Wayne, Diplo, 2 Chainz and, of course, Kelce himself.
The NFL star apparently took Swift’s advice to heart as he was seen dancing and having a great time throughout the event.
The three-time Super Bowl champion, who presented the Lombardi Trophy on stage, tossed autographed footballs to the crowd, had a few drinks and even had the chance to DJ with Diplo.
“In all my years in (Kansas City), life couldn’t be better than right now,” Kelce told the crowd.
The hunk sang a similar tune while chatting with us before the show, praising the community for their “amazing” support.
“It gets better and better every year and KC continues to show up and show up,” he told Page Six on the red carpet.
Last year, Kelce held the music festival on the same weekend as the NFL Draft, which also took place in Kansas City.
Without the influx of people coming to the area, the athlete admitted he was “a little nervous” because he wouldn’t be as popular this time around.
“I didn’t know what the outcome would be, but sure enough, everyone was there and it’s so fun to come out and give high fives and see the smiles,” he told us.
Although Swift, 34, was unable to attend the fun event due to her Eras Tour schedule, Kelce’s closest friends, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, showed up to support him.
Luckily, the “Cruel Summer” singer and the record-breaking group spent most of the week together on a romantic getaway to Lake Como.
After Swift’s shows in Paris last weekend, the lovebirds flew to northern Italy, where they stayed in a luxurious $21,000-a-night private villa.
The couple, who began dating last summer, rented the neoclassical landmark for three nights.
The couple enjoyed a picturesque candlelit dinner in their perfectly manicured garden on their first night in town.
They looked very in love as they drank wine and chatted while holding hands across the table.
After the meal — presumably prepared by their on-site private chef — Swift and Kelce took a stroll by the water.
Later in the week, Swift and Kelce were spotted on a romantic boat ride before heading out to dinner at one of the city’s most popular restaurants.
Aboard the private boat, the two were photographed kissing and cuddling in the back seat.
