The American football star said it was a “pleasure” to meet some of the royals and revealed what he loved about London.

Travis Kelce has revealed what he thought of the Prince of Wales after meeting the royal at his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s concert in London.

The American football tight end, who has been in a relationship with Swift since September 2023, joined the singer as she met Prince Williamand her children Prince George and Princess Charlotte, during last Friday’s show at London’s Wembley Stadium.

A photo of the group was posted on Instagram on June 21, the same day as William’s 42nd birthday.

Describing the royal encounter on the New Heights podcast, which he hosts with his brother Jason, Kelce said: “He (Prince William) was the coolest asshole.

“They were an absolute delight to me, I didn’t know if I was supposed to curtsy or bow to them, or just be an American idiot and shake their hands.”

Jason, who retired from the NFL in March, added that they received counseling before meeting the royal family and because it was not an official event, they did not need to bow.

“The highlight was Princess Charlotte, Prince George was great too, but she was so adorable,” the former Philadelphia Eagles player said.

“I can’t express what a superstar she was.

“Maybe it’s because I have three daughters now, but she had fire, she asked questions, that was the most electric part of it.”

Praising William’s parenting technique, Kelce said it seemed nine-year-old Charlotte had been encouraged to be “present and vocal” and to ask questions.

Both men also praised London itself, from the scenery to the best-tasting beer.

“The beers are a bit tastier here, they’ve been around a bit longer, they taste really good here,” Kelce said, adding: “The scenery is great, it changes depending on what part of London you are in , and I like it. »

In the ultimate seal of approval, he said the only team he would leave the Kansas City Chiefs for would be a London-based team because he said the city was “great.”

On the third night – out of eight Swift will perform in London this year – Kelce joined the American pop star on stage sending the crowd of nearly 90,000 into frenzy.

It is the first time the footballer has appeared on stage, while his brother Jason revealed the shows in the capital were the first time he had seen the singer perform live.
