Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will receive a relatively modest fee to host a spinoff of the game show “Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?” »

The football star was confirmed to host the show just a few weeks ago, and the deal to do so was made long before he began a relationship with the television superstar. pop Taylor Swift.

According to The Sun, Kelce’s contract is for two seasons and he will earn $1.8 million per season.

The Sun estimates that will amount to about $750,000 per season after the IRS steps in for tax purposes.

Sources told the outlet: “The deal is for two seasons and there is an option for third and more if the money is right.”

“He is also working to become one of the producers of the series.”

Sun sources added: “He could have ordered a lot more, but he doesn’t care because he loves the show and is excited to host it.”

Apparently, this isn’t the only area where Kelce is underpaid given his talents.

In an episode of the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, his former teammate Tyreek Hill estimated that the tight end was paid “14, 15 million” per year.

“They will be the best paid.” But obviously they’re going to make friendly deals because you know… (They want to) keep the team together,” Hill said.

Kelce will reprise the role previously held by comedian Jeff Foxworthy when the series first aired on FOX from 2007 to 2009.

This won’t be the first time the series has been rebooted, as Foxworthy returned to host a revived version of the series in 2015.

In 2019, the show changed networks to Nickelodeon where it lasted for one season while hosted by WWE Superstar John Cena.

The Kelce reboot will air on paid streaming service Amazon Prime Video.

The new format will feature the contestants facing a panel of three celebrities, rather than the old panel of primary school children.

Of course, this won’t be Kelce’s first exposure to the world of television – having previously been the subject of a dating show, “Catching Kelce,” and also having hosted Saturday Night Live last year.

Since then, Kelce’s life has been a whirlwind. His podcast “New Heights” with his brother Jason became a smash hit and was even nominated for two Webby Awards.

On the field, he won two consecutive Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs by eliminating the San Francisco 49ers in overtime.

And of course, his now-girlfriend, Taylor Swift, was waiting for him on the court.

The couple became THE story surrounding the NFL last season and they still managed to attract attention during the offseason.

Travis and Taylor have remained close – traveling to various exotic locations like Singapore and the Bahamas – while also taking some time off from their busy work.
