Travis Kelce has the best answer on whether ‘Karma’ is about the ‘guy on screen’

Travis Kelce answers questions about Taylor Swift’s exes like a pro!

While discussing his relationship with Swift, 34, on the June 25 episode of Barstool Sports’ Bussin’ with the boys podcast, Kelce, also 34, responded to a question about the singer’s “Karma” lyrics going viral — and who the song previously referenced.

During a concert on the Eras tour last November, Swift changed a lyric from Midnights piece that alludes to an actor. Instead of singing “Karma is the guy on the screen / I’m going straight home,” the popstar (who previously dated actors Taylor Lautner, Jake Gyllenhaal and Joe Alwyn) swapped “screen” for “Chiefs” — a a clear nod to her NFL star boyfriend.

When asked if the “guy” in the original lyrics of “Karma” referred to Gyllenhaal, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end shrugged, asking, “What happened?”

“Wasn’t that ‘guy on screen?’ ” podcast co-host and former NFL linebacker Will Compton asked, and Kelce replied that “it was.”

Co-host and NFL free agent Taylor Lewan then chimed in, noting that “it’s changed,” and Compton, 34, added, “I know it’s changed.” Like, I know it’s about the boy NOWRIGHT?”

Reflecting on the chaos that ensued after Swift first implemented the viral change — which she has since repeated in February and last weekend in London — Compton continued: “I remember when that clip fell and she said (and) everyone was going crazy.”

“The camera pans to Trav, he’s kind of smiling backstage,” he said of the viral clip, and Kelce added, “I was like, ‘Oh shit!’ »

After the interview went live, fans took note of Kelce’s response on X (formerly known as Twitter). “The way he handled this nonsense was awesome,” one user posted, according to TMZ.

Then, in response to Compton’s own X-rated post, “Teaching my 2 year old daughter who Karma is,” Kelce responded perfectly with “😂😂😂.”

Kelce’s epic “it was” response came in the middle of a segment in which he and the podcast hosts revealed their top three Swift songs.

The NFL star’s favorites? “Black Space,” “Cruel Summer,” and “So High School” — because it “has a bit of a sentimental meaning,” he said slyly.

Elsewhere in the podcast, the tight end got even more personal, recounting how he knew he was starting to “really fall” for the 14-time Grammy winner, who first sparked romance rumors after making a surprise appearance at one of Kelce’s games last September. .

Explaining how Swift “figures out situations,” like him and the Chiefs winning the 2024 Super Bowl, Kelce told the hosts: “She’s very self-aware. And I think that’s why I really started to really fall in love with her, is how genuine she is around friends (and) family.

“It can get crazy for someone with that much attention…and she keeps it so relaxed and so cool,” he said, adding, “I can admire her, for sure.”

Kelce also spoke about balancing the public and non-public aspects of his relationship, saying, “You want to keep things private, but at the same time, I’m not here to hide anything.” He added: “She’s my daughter. You know what I mean? This is my lady. So it’s like I’m proud of it.
