Travis Kelce Claims Taylor Swift’s Actions With the Chiefs Are All About Him
Taylor Swift may be trying to do all the fantasy football players who drafted Travis Kelce this year a favor.
The Kansas City Chiefs star addressed the news that Swift has been drawing up plays for the team’s offensive playbook, something Patrick Mahomes revealed in an interview with NBC last week.
Kelce says all of Swift’s pieces are centered around him, during an interview on The Rich Eisen Show on Tuesday.
“She’s a little biased and just makes plays for me,” Kelce said.

Kelce added that none of Swift’s plays have been presented to head coach Andy Reid yet. However, Kelce believes Swift has learned quickly how the plays work and didn’t rule out using them for the Chiefs this season.
“She didn’t know a lot about the rules and everything, but what makes her so good at her job is she’s very detailed in every aspect of it,” Kelce said.
Kelce added that if those pieces ever make it to Reid’s desk, “I’ll make sure everyone knows they’re his creation.”
Mahomes expressed similar support for using Swift’s pieces when he revealed she was designing them on Aug. 30.

“We might have to put one in,” Mahomes told NBC of the plays.
The Chiefs have a history of incorporating dance elements into their trick plays in the past.
In their season finale against the Las Vegas Raiders on January 7, the Chiefs’ offense, led by Mahomes and Kelce, broke up the huddle, then immediately regrouped and circled for a few seconds before quickly getting into formation to throw the ball. The play has been dubbed the “snow globe” game.
In the 2020 Super Bowl LIV game against the 49ers, the Chiefs offense stood in a full formation at the goal line on a critical fourth down. Then, suddenly, all four backfield players made a rhythmic move on a point, Mahomes moved on a point, and the ball was thrown directly to Damien Williams for a critical first down that ultimately gave the Chiefs their first touchdown of the game.

Kelce was at the center of one of Kansas City’s famous trick plays when he took the snap and threw his first career touchdown pass in the 2021 wild-card playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, replacing Mahomes as the team’s quarterback for one play.
Swift would have plenty to draw on if she wanted to involve Kelce more in replacing Mahomes as a passer on some plays by Taysom Hill, the New Orleans Saints’ longtime utility tight end. Hill is listed as a tight end. However, Hill has thrown 298 passes for the Saints since 2018. He has thrown for 2,348 yards with 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He did so both on trick plays on offense and as the team’s starter for nine games in 2020 and 2021.
