- I spent 30 hours on a one -night Amtrak train while traveling from Miami to New York in 2021.
- For $ 1,000, I reserved a room, which is roughly the size of a King-size bed with a full bathroom.
- About 45 square feet, my cabin used impressive a small space without feeling cramped.
In October 2021, I slipped into a train plate during a 30 -hour Miami trip to New York.
I was on an AMTRAK one night in the 45 -foot accommodation that I reserved for $ 1,000 – a room.
I thought it made a great use of a small space by packing up in the equipment without sacrificing space to stretch and move my body for the long journey.
Follow me in the accommodation of the night train for an overview of every detail of this small moving hotel room.
For 45 square feet, the Amtrak room was spacious.

My room Amtrak had a sofa that fell back in a bed, a berth who pulled from the ceiling and a chair that fell back.
Two wide windows and a full length wall mirror made the space larger. And even with all the furniture and equipment, there was enough ground space to get up and stretch my members between session hours.
Between the seats, a table with folded leaves out of the wall.

As I worked on my laptop sporadically throughout my trip, it was ideal to have a table that could be folded in the wall for more space.
On the left of the sofa, there was a sink and a vanity with a handful of small towels next to it.

There was also a cabinet to store toiletries and other personal items.
There was also a private bathroom inside the bedroom with a door, a shower and toilet.

According to the train line website, only housing in Amtrak trains have complete private bathrooms.
Next to the lounge area, a small closet held three hangers.

This can be particularly practical for those who travel with jackets or formal clothes.
I noticed other details, such as temperature controls and a button to call a attendant, which was always fast and kind.

Another thing that surprised me was the variety of lighting options – more than I saw in an economic seat on a flight.
When it was time to sleep, the sofa fell back into a bed on the lower level and another bunk style bed came down from the ceiling.

On the upper berth, I saw more controls for air conditioning and lights and a small storage pocket.
The room is ideal for night travelers, because it wraps many amenities in a small space while offering enough space to stretch.

I recommend the Amtrak room for those looking for more affordable night accommodation. It is half the size of a room but still includes two berths with a diurnal seats device. And, according to my experience, it costs half the price.
