Transfers / Top 14 – Teddy Iribaren leaves La Rochelle with immediate effect

The La Rochelle stadium separates from a player. This Tuesday, via a press release of a few lines, the club announced the end of Teddy Iribaen’s contract with immediate effect. An operation done “by mutual agreement”it is specified. The scrum half arrived in Charente-Maritime from Racing 92 in 2023. He was committed until June 2026. The French international (one selection) played 20 matches in all competitions during his adventure at Marcel- Deflandre. He played four games this season, the last on November 30, during the defeat of Ronan O’Gara’s men at home against RC Vannesin the Great West derby (14-23). He was the starter that day. Earlier in the season, he gave his team victory with a successful penalty in Créteil, against Racing 92, at the last second (16-17). The native of Toulouse never managed to establish himself in his now former club. He only started eight times. He also stayed on the bench four times without coming into play last season.

Few new solutions in La Rochelle

Aged 34, the player trained at Stade Toulouse then passed through Tarbes, Montpellier, Brive and Racing will undoubtedly start looking for one last challenge. For his part, his former employer only has two players left who can operate behind the scrum in his squad: Thomas Berjon and Tawera Kerr-Barlow. The Rochelais could also recall Lucas Zamora from his loan in Pro D2 to Soyaux-Angoulême if necessary. Nolann Le Garrec will arrive next season.
