Traffic advisory issued ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Jahir Sabha’ at Shivaji Park

The Mumbai Traffic Police on Thursday issued a notice for the ‘Jahir Sabha’ at Shivaji Park in Dadar on Friday, May 17.

A large number of people and VVIPs are expected to attend the event organized by the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), ahead of the fifth phase of voting for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on May 20.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other senior leaders are expected to participate in the event.

In accordance with police advice, heavy vehicle traffic is likely on the West and East Express Highways. Therefore, traffic arrangements will remain in place from 10:00 a.m. to midnight on Friday.

Mumbai Traffic Police said there will be no parking on the following roads:

  1. SVS Route: From Baba Saheb Worlikar Chowk (Century Junction) to Hari Om Junction.
  2. Combined Keluskar Road South and Keluskar Road North, Shivaji Park, Dadar.
  3. All MB Raut Marg, Shivaji Park, Dadar.
  4. Pandurang Naik Marg (Road No. 5) Shivaji Park, Dadar.
  5. Dadasaheb Rege Marg, Shivaji Park, Dadar.
  6. Lt Dilip Gupte Marg: From Shivaji Park Gate Number 4 to Shitaladevi Road, Shivaji Park, Dadar.
  7. LJ Route: Gadkari Junction, Dadar to Hotel Shobha, Mahim.
  8. NC Kelkar Road: Hanuman Temple Junction to Gadkari Junction, Shivaji Park, Dadar.
  9. TH Kataria Road: Ganga Vihar Junction to Asawari Junction, Mahim.
  10. Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Road: From Maheshwari Circle to Kohinoor Junction, Dadar (East).
  11. Tilak Road: From Kotwal Garden Circle, Dadar (west) to RA Kidwai Road, Matunga (east).
  12. 12. Khan Abdul Gafarkhan Road: From Sealink Road to JK Kapur Chowk to Bindu Madhav Thackeray Chowk.
  13. Thadani Road: From Poddar Hospital junction to Bindu Madhav Thackeray Chowk.
  14. Dr Annie Besant Road: From Poddar Hospital Junction to Dr Narayan Hardikar Junction.

Additionally, the notice stated that vehicular traffic would be regulated on the following roads and, if necessary, diverted to the following alternative routes:

  1. SVS route northbound: From Siddhivinayak Junction to Yes Bank Junction.

Alternative route: From Siddhivinayak Junction to SK Bole Road-Agar Bazar, Portuguese Church, turn left towards Gokhale or SK Bole Road.

  1. SVS route southbound:

Alternative route: From Dandekar Chowk, turn left towards Pandurang Naik Marg, drom Raja Badhe Route Chowk, turn right towards LJ Road to Gokhale Road or NC Kelkar Road.

Instructions for Jahir Sabha Participants

Vehicles coming from different locations will drop off participants at the boarding point and park at designated locations as follows:

  1. Western and northern suburbs

Vehicles coming from western and northern suburbs via Western Express Highway have been asked to drop participants at Senapati Bapat Road, between Mahim Railway Station and Ruparel College area, and park at Mahim Reti Bander, Kohinoor PPL Parking , India Bulls Finance Center. PPL Car Park, Kamgar Stadium and on Senapati Bapat Road. Additionally, light motor vehicles can be parked at the IndiaBulls One Center PPL car park.

  1. Eastern Suburbs

Vehicles coming from Thane and Navi-Mumbai using the Eastern Express Highway will have to drop participants near Dadar TT Circle and then park towards Five Gardens, Matunga and RAK 4 Roads.

  1. City and South Mumbai

For vehicles coming from South Mumbai using Veer Savarkar Road, travelers will need to drop participants at Ravindranath Natya Mandir and park at India Bulls Finance Center PPL Parking, Raheja PPL Parking, Sudam Kalu Ahire Road, Worli, Padurang Budhkar Marg, Glaxo Junction to Kurne Chowk, Narayan Hardikar Marg, Sacred Heart High School, to JK Kapur Chowk.

Additionally, vehicles coming from BA Road must drop participants at Dadar TT Circle and park at the designated parking lot at Five Gardens or RAK 4 Roads.

In addition to this, the Mumbai Traffic Police has also listed a few parking spaces for the Jahir Sabha participants. These include:

  1. Those traveling by bus can park the vehicle across Senapati Bapat Marg Station, Mahim up to Tilak Bridge.
  2. Bus parking all over Reti Bandar, Mahim Junction.
  3. Bus parking all along Lady Jehangir Road, Ruiya Junction to Five Garden St Joseph School, Matunga.
  4. Bus parking on the entire Nathalal Parikh road, St Joseph School to Khalsa College, Matunga.
  5. Bus parking on the entire RAK 4 road from Arora Junction, Lijjat Papad to AIDS Hospital.
  6. Bus parking at Lodha PPL Parking Lot, Senapati Bapat Road, Lower Parel.
  7. Parking at Kamagar Stadium (Senapati Bapat Marg) Elphinstone.
  8. Parking at Kohinoor PPL Car Park, Shivaji Park, Dadar.
  9. Parking at the India Bull Finance Center PPL car park, Elphinstone.
  10. Cars can be parked at Raheja PPL car park, Sudam Kalu Ahire Road, Worli.
  11. Bus parking available at Pandurang Budhkar Marg, from Glaxo Junction to Kurne Chowk.
  12. Cars can be parked at Pandurang Budhkar Marg from Galxo Junction to Deepak Talkies Junction.
  13. Bus parking available on Sudam Kalu Ahire Road, Worli. (Doordarshan Street).
  14. Parking at Narayan Hardikar Marg junction up to Sacred Heart High School.
  15. Bus parking at Sasmira Road (Worli Bus Depot area).
