Tottenham star Rodrigo Bentancur shocks teammates with furious anger after being substituted following Man City goal

Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur cut a furious figure after being substituted in the Premier League clash against Manchester City.

Shortly after City took the lead through Erling Haaland’s 51st-minute goal, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou opted to bring the Uruguayan midfielder out for Dejan Kulusevski.

Bentancur shook hands with boss Ange Postecoglou but then turned his anger on the home bench.

He kicked a chair three times before slamming a water bottle onto the floor, much to the shock of his teammates, including Bryan Gil.

Bentancur almost lost his balance before throwing a bottle of water on the ground.

He then regained his composure to take a seat on the bench and watch the rest of the match, which ended 2-0 against Man City.

The result ends Tottenham’s Champions League qualification hopes as they sit five points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa with a game in hand.

For City, the victory puts them in the lead in the title race ahead of the final day of the Premier League season on Sunday.

Beat West Ham at the Etihad Stadium and Pep Guardiola’s men will be champions again, with Arsenal – two points behind – having to beat Everton at home and hope City make a mistake.

Bentancur was not the only player to challenge his sending off during Tuesday night’s clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

City goalkeeper Ederson was seen throwing a tantrum of his own during his 67th-minute substitution.

The Brazilian was hooked shortly after a collision with Spurs defender Cristian Romero where he had to be treated for a few minutes.

However, that didn’t stop Ederson from disposing of a bag full of balls after having a heated discussion with City boss Guardiola.

After Haaland’s opener midway through the second half, Spurs had chances to equalize.

Bur Haaland calmed nerves with a late penalty to double City’s lead after Pedro Porro was penalized for tripping over Jeremy Doku.

They are now one win away from a historic fourth consecutive Premier League title.
