The Nightmare Premier League season of Tottenham continued Thursday evening when they fell to a 1-0 defeat in Chelsea. During the first Spurs match since the loss of 2-0 in Fulham, Ange Postcoglou brought a total of five changes to his team while Micky Van de Ven came to associate Cristian Romero at the heart of the defense.
Lucas Bergvall, James Maddison, Wilson Odobert and his son Heung-Min also returned to the XI after starting the bench in Fulham before the international break. The Spurs almost found themselves 1-0 inside the first minute while the authorization of Van de Ven at close range struck Nicolas Jackson and hit the post.
Chelsea got closer again in 18 minutes while Guglielmo Vicario was necessary to prevent the ball from crawling on the line after Destiny Udogie had produced beautiful defense to prevent Enzo Fernandez from finishing the cross of Cole Palmer. Visitors have accessed good positions when the first half advanced, but the final action failed to force Robert Sanchez to real stops.
Vicario, on the other hand, had to tip Jadon Sancho’s shot at the dawn of half-time with the winger who seems to spin. The blues then opened the scoring five minutes after restarting while Fernandez received all the space he wanted in the box to power the palmer cross powerfully at home.
The Spurs got out of it with a little time after Moisses Caicedo scored with a superb volley from the outside of the box, but it was considered offside after a Var verification. Var then denied the Spurs an equalizer while Pape Matar Sarr was tried to have the victim of the Caicedo thwarter before scoring remotely.
The visitors approached an equalizer in the 90th minute, but Sanchez saved low to stop the efforts of his stretching.
Guglielmo Vicario
Well saved on his own line when Udogie seemed ready to transform the crossing of Palmer in his own net and produced an even better stop just before half-time to tip the effort of Sancho. I could really do nothing for Fernandez’s header nor the prohibited strip of Caicedo, but obtained the right hand to a late Effort to Palmer. 6
Djed Spence
Against Jadon Sancho and sometimes made life difficult to have winger. Very few possibilities to progress and have an impact. 6
Cristian Romero
Interrupted by Jackson a few times when the Chelsea striker was right in him in good regions. Was involved in the fray just before half-time and received a reservation for its part in the incident. Better after break but not at its usual level. 5
Micky Van de Ven
Appointed alongside Romero in defense for the first time in the Premier League since December and has been involved instantly while his authorization at close range struck Jackson and came out of the post. Produced well -timed plated on several occasions, but was attracted to Romero and Jackson for the opening goal of Chelsea while Fernandez obsessed his head. It turned out to be an expensive error. 5
Destiny udogie
Produced a large defense a few meters from the goal to prevent Fernandez from converting the palmer cross into 18 minutes. However, the great rear saw the Argentinian international running in the box for his goal but did not move to cover it. I wanted a penalty for a Trevoh Chalobah handball in the second half, but it was not given. 5
Rodrigo Bentancur
Made a few good breaks in the field and was one of Tottenham’s best artists during the day. 6
Lucas Bergvall
Back to the XI departure after falling on the bench in Fulham and the Spurs were better for having it in the middle of the park. I tried to advance the team and make important plasters. Replaced just after the hour and its release was encountered by the air of the fans of the Spurs because they clearly wanted it to remain. 6
James Maddison
The Spurs needed his creativity, but he saw the ball very little to make things move to Stamford Bridge in the first half. Was more involved in the end of the match, but nothing has happened for him. 5
Wilson Odobert
Given the head sign on the right side, but he had very little joy on his side of the field. Done as part of the double substitution after the hour bar. 5
Dominic Solanke
Has worked as hard as ever, but no chance during the game, the Spurs not doing enough to involve it in dangerous areas. 6
Son Heung-Min
Barely had an impact on the procedure, but was more involved towards the end of the first half and forced Sanchez to get in hand at his nasty low cross. Was to be refused by the goalkeeper in the last minute after being connected with the crossing of Brennan Johnson to the rear post. 5
Substitutes
Brennan Johnson (Wilson Odobert, 64)
Took Odobert’s place on the right wing and almost received a decisive pass with a beautiful cross that the son almost converted. 5
Pope Matar Sarr (Lucas Bergvall, 64)
Nettred with a long -distance strike, but his goal was excluded after a Var check for a fault on Caicedo. 6
Mathys Tel (James Maddison, 88)
Came for the last minutes. N / A
Pedro Porro (Micky Van de Ven, 88)
Given a question of minutes at the end of the match. N / A
