Tottenham manager Antonio Conte hits back at ‘disrespectful’ Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann over Harry Kane transfer comments

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has hit back at Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann over his comments about Spurs striker Harry Kane.

Kane scored twice in his side’s 2-1 win over Rangers on Saturday, with the England striker looking sharp heading into the new Premier League – or Bundesliga – season.

But his boss insisted he wasn’t going anywhere

Nagelsmann said Kane was a “brilliant player” and claimed he would “see what happens” regarding the centre-forward’s move, after Bayern sold Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona.

But Conte was unhappy with the German’s comments and said it was ‘disrespectful’ to talk about players from other clubs.

“Honestly, I haven’t heard that. Of course, I am a coach who does not talk about players from other teams. I do not know why [this happened]“, explained the Italian.

“The situation at Tottenham is very clear. The plan is very clear with the club. Harry is part of the project. He is a very important part of the project and, yes, only rumors.

“At the same time, I repeat that I don’t like to talk about players from another club. If I want to do something, I will talk to the club, not through the media.

“I think it’s maybe a bit disrespectful to the other club. It’s my way. It’s my way of dealing with the situation with the other players.

Nagelsmann is full of praise for the England captain

And Kane’s team-mate Eric Dier insists it’s “normal” for world-class players to receive praise from other managers.

“Yeah, it’s normal now. I think there will always be a lot of talk about every world-class player,” said the Spurs defender.

“In football you don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow, let alone next week.

“It’s not something that really bothers me, it’s just normal that you know that there is a lot of talk about world-class players.”
