Torrez Finney continued his winning career winning on Saturday evening, proving Dana White directly to the UFC apex.
The competitor of medium-jacked average weights is tiny for the 5’8 ″ division, but compensates with withdrawals and a massive force that make him a nightmare for opponents. He was forced to go through the series of candidates from Dana White three times before finally obtaining a contract, and made his debut in Las Vegas.
Finney apparently controlled the fight with a grappling performance which was not at all suitable for fans, and aroused criticism from Michael Bisping on the comments. However, a judge marked the three laps against him despite monstrous control time figures.
Passing through the UFC Vegas 105, Torrez Finney was a favorite of fans who, according to many, had had trouble doing during his efforts on the series of competitors. He won two arrest victories, but was forced to fight a third time by Dana White, who considered that he would be “decimated” in the UFC proper.
While the boss was not at the top to watch Finney to make his debut – he was in competition in a Baccara tournament at the MGM – his name was key in the story. Even if Finney won and had a constant control time, he was separated several times by referee Mike Beltran for not having done enough.
His opponent Robert Valentin had a frustrating time which moves away from the cage, but seemed to have been dominated at least two laps. However, that did not prevent Judge Tony Weeks from scoring the three laps of the former tuf finalist in a bizarre dashboard.
However, it was not enough to influence the competition, because Finney won 29-28 on the other two cards and marked his first victory under the banner of the UFC.
A victory at its beginnings was not sufficient for Torrez Finney to impress the fans in Las Vegas, social media asking him for the performance. They estimated that it was a loose way to fight and called for his withdrawal from the promotion despite his undefeated.
The controversial guru of Youtuber MMA wrote: “Torrez Finney is actually the biggest B – – We have never seen in the UFC. I have never seen someone trying desperately to avoid a fight for 15 consecutive minutes like that before. More separations.
Dillon Danis was also involved in lagging behind, joking that Finney was going to be the next fighter to land on the tracker on the UFC list. “This is the reason why Torrez Finney was not signed before the 3rd DWCS fight,” wrote a fan. “No one wants to see this S—.”
