West Brom manager Tony Mowbray revealed that his children thought he was going to die when he was fighting for the intestine cancer.
Mowbray suddenly resigned as director of Birmingham in February of last year after undergoing surgery. He had 15 cm removed from his intestine during his treatment.
He took temporary leave after eight games in charge, before officially resigning the role in May.
The 61 -year -old man, who managed a crowd of English clubs, is now on the road to recovery after surgery and has publicly published his difficulties from the last 18 months.
His goal, he revealed, was to make sure that his family was in good care of the situation, going so far as to show his wife how to use their banking application.
But it was also his children, who revealed Mowbray in an interview with The Times, feared the worst.

“I had the conversation with my family and you could see that they were afraid,” he said. “Am I afraid? My only thoughts were for my family, my three children and my wife and make sure they were going well.
“I had to put everything in order and tried. My wife saw our banking application for the first time in her life. These are little things like that. She understood. It was serious things. I felt that she needed to know where we had our money, whether ISA or pensions and what was at the bank.
Speaking about his diagnosis, which came after collapsing when he tried to answer the door, he added: “ my wife put me in the car and brought me back to the hospital and they wanted to know why I collapse and to the state that I was ”, he said. “They rehydrated me and put me on a drop by drop overnight.
“I remember sitting there in bed and my children watered. They were afraid of not living. How old were they? They were 15, 17 and 19 years old. I could see fear in their eyes.
Mowbray is now regularly in the gymnasium, strengthening his strength. He resumed two and a half stones after losing almost double during his treatment.
West Brom is seventh from the championship table with seven games to play in their season as they target a return to the Premier League under Mowbray.
