Toni Kroos sends message to FC Barcelona player Pedri after Spanish star’s injury at Euro 2024

Toni Kroos has broken his silence on his tackle on Pedri and insisted he had no intention of injuring the Barcelona star during Germany’s quarter-final against Spain at Euro 2024.

Pedri had to come off early in the match after a very violent tackle from Kroos.

The Real Madrid player managed to escape a yellow card for his tackle, with Spain manager Luis de la Fuente later saying it should have been a red card.

Friday’s defeat to Spain was Kroos’ last as a professional, and he has now written a lengthy article with a brief mention of Pedri at the end.

“This way, it’s always very important to me: sorry and get well soon to Pedri! Logically, it wasn’t my intention to hurt you. Get well soon and good luck. You’re a great player,” he wrote on Instagram.

Pedri suffered a knee sprain following Kroos’ tackle and it remains to be seen when he will be able to return. Spain’s win means they will face France for a place in the Euro 2024 final.
