Tommy Lee didn’t mince his words when he criticized artists promoting their new music during the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles.
“It makes me sick to see most people continue to post on crappy social media!” » the Mötley Crüe drummer, 62, wrote on Instagram on Monday.
“Guys, right now, no one gives a damn when your record drops or the next show is when so many people are in the middle of one of the biggest disasters of all time!”
“I understand comic relief is always needed (sic) but Jesus Christ leave all that alone and maybe stop and see who needs help if you can.”
It’s unclear who exactly prompted Lee’s speech, but Bad Bunny continued to promote his new album, “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS,” while FKA twigs also publicized theirs.
Additionally, Spencer Pratt encouraged his fans to stream his wife Heidi Montag’s music to generate income after losing their Pacific Palisades, Calif., home in the Palisades Fire last week.
Montag’s 2010 album, titled “Superficial,” has since reached No. 1 on the iTunes chart.
On Wednesday, Kelly Osbourne joined Lee to share her thoughts on celebrity response in the wake of the wildfire devastation.
In a since-deleted Instagram video – which was reposted on TikTok – she claimed that some stars were “using other people’s pain and suffering as a photo op”.
“I don’t believe you’re helping because you’re getting attention for your help,” she added. “I believe you just help because you want to. I’m so confused. I think this is so wrong. No one asked you to go out and cuddle. Go home.
Several celebrities paid special attention to them by donating their time to help those in need.
Paris Hilton documented her efforts with the Pasadena Humane Society earlier this week and revealed she planned to take in a dog after he was abandoned by a family whose house burned down.
Jennifer Garner handed out meals to wildfire victims on Friday and gave a television interview about how she has been personally affected by the crisis, while Kim Kardashian announced that her brand Skims would donate essential goods to first responders, as well as underwear and socks for those who don’t have them. Nothing.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have also been criticized for devoting their time to helping affected communities, although they have not posted anything on social media.
A source told Page Six on Monday that the royal couple was offended by the accusation that they were only helping for show.
