Tommy Fury vs. Jake Paul “pretty close,” says Frank Warren as Love Island star prepares to get “life-changing money”

Frank Warren believes that a fight between Tommy Fury and Jake Paul is “close enough” to finally be signed.

Fury, who is the half-brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson, has been locked in a war of words with the YouTube star since the start of the year.

The pair fought on the same show in August when Paul defeated Tyron Woodley, while Fury defeated future nemesis Anthony Taylor’s training partner on the undercard.

Paul, 24, has amassed four wins so far in his burgeoning boxing career and taunted the Mancunian by offering him an extra $ 500,000 if he beats him, but asked him to change his name to “Tommy Fumbles” if he loses.

The 22-year-old remains keen to fight and his legendary promoter insists it would be a fantastic career development for him just three years after starting his boxing journey.

“He’s a rookie, he’s only had seven fights,” Warren said of White and Jordan.

“With the reality and the age we live in, he has around four or five million followers on Instagram, which is obviously a big deal.

“He’s obviously very much appreciated as Tyson’s brother so everything helps. With Jake Paul, I think he has 25 million followers.

“If this fight is signed, which I think is pretty close from Tommy’s point of view, it’s going to be a huge fight to make him money.

“It’s life changing money, so I’m not going to stand in his way – actually, I’m going to cheer him on – because I think he beats Jake Paul.”

“The way I grew up in boxing, and I know I’m an old jerk, is changing.”
