Tom Selleck and the ‘Blue Bloods’ team will celebrate the filming of the series finale

It’s no longer their finest hour

No picnic, bath or sunburn in advance for Tom Selleck.

He and his team quietly marked the end of his 15 years on television by playing New York police officer Frank Reagan.

That glorious mustache wasn’t ready to be shaved. He wasn’t ready to stop filming. We liked it. He loved her. The public loved it. But CBS, in its bad mood, decided “Enough.”

So, pasta for everyone. The whole group. Monday evening at Elio’s.

An explosive story

Patrick Cyrana is a specialist in pyrotechnics. His store in New Jersey is Backyard Heroes Fireworks.

“July 4 testing begins in April. The products are manufactured mainly in China. Our agents work there constantly on our hundreds of thousands of containers. Everyone is tested because humidity can cause accidents.

“Transport is by boat. No plane. Everything is safe, unless there is a fire on board – which does not happen. A ship crash could cause a problem. On a road heavily regulated by the Ministry of Transport. Insured by Lloyd’s of London.

“An average Fourth of July display costs about $20,000. Large park, large municipality, it’s $50,000. Small town $5,000. Nothing stands out from our zero-debris fireworks. Eyes are safe. Cardboard cases. The stuff is biodegradable.

“Of course, you can always have a low break, a misfire or something that causes a shell to break or explode in the rack. Then the wood, the plastic, every component flies everywhere.

“It is above all black powder. Sulfur, charcoal, potassium nitrate form a powder which creates fire. Heavy metals create color. It is black powder contained in a cardboard tube or round ball. This aerial shell becomes a rocket.

“American ships, containers and regulations make manufacturing here too expensive. One container could hold $60,000 worth. Then $30,000 to ship and that amount has increased recently.

Has something ever gone wrong?

“Fires sometimes. Or stays in the sky longer than it should. Or a shell only rises a short distance. We shoot electronically. Set everything up in advance, then press the buttons.

“There’s no grumbling there. Will not come off spontaneously. It needs ignition. Forget a cigar or cigarette that has a flame.

FYI: Before arriving at his Jersey store, fireworks began in China, and were widely used in Europe by the 15th century.

So everyone, spend your 4th of July with lukewarm potato salad, friendly ants, shoddy coffee, and pest parents – and enjoy the American holiday.

To have the munchies

But hey, we’re already celebrating. The problem inside is: to tip or not to tip?

Furthermore, are we also insulting the butler who, in kindergarten, learned to remove a note with one hand before the teacher took it out of a money clip?

Plus: dining outside in a bus lane so the oil goes with the chicken or inside where the air conditioner is broken?

Do you also think it’s fair when they suddenly charge for bread? Or water? These things are free even in prisons.

America is so great, who knows how Columbus could have missed it in the first place. He and his guys slept in the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria.

And today? Choose one. Most of us are still in the same leaky boat.

And not just in New York, kids, not just in New York – but happy 4th of July everyone.
