While discussing the 1999 film Eyes widenedCruise remembers having stolen to meet the director Stanley Kubrick to discuss the film at the filmmaker’s home – and how he made a key casting suggestion.

Kidman previously thought of the film in an interview in 2020 with The New York Timesdeclaring that, despite the dark tones of the film, she and Cruise – who were married in 1990 after meeting the shooting of Thunder days – Often found ways to clarify the atmosphere after a shoot.
“We were going to do kart races after these scenes,” said Kidman. “We were praising a place and reaching the race at 3 am.”
The actress also explained that they had raised their children – her daughter Isabella and her son Connor – at the time, and often had family dinners with Kubrick, who died at the age of 70 shortly after the film’s end.
“We loved working with him. We turned this for two years,” she said. “We had two children and live in a trailer on the lot mainly, making spaghetti because Stanley sometimes liked to eat with us. We worked with the greatest filmmaker and learn our lives and take advantage of our lives on the set.”
