Could Tom Brady come out of retirement…again?

Brady, 46, appears to have his post-playing career already planned out – with the seven-time Super Bowl winner set to begin the first season of his 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox as lead color analyst of the NFL in the channel. .

But the Patriots legend hasn’t completely ruled out a return to the field.

During a recent appearance on the “DeepCut with VicBlends” podcast, Brady was asked if he would consider a scenario in which he considered another return to the NFL.

Here is the full exchange from VicBlends and Brady.

Let’s say one day there’s a situation,” VicBlends asked. “Maybe it’s the 49ers, maybe you know, heading into the playoffs, the offense is great…

“Patriots,” Brady interjected. “It could be Raiders, it could be, you never know.”

“God forbid someone falls,” VicBlends continued. “Would you like to answer this phone?” »

“I am not opposed to it. I don’t know if they’re going to let me do it if I become an NFL team owner. But I don’t know if… I don’t know,” Brady said. “I’ll still be in shape, still be able to throw the ball. So, to interject a little bit, like (Michael Jordan) coming back; I don’t know if they would allow me to, but I wouldn’t object.

Brady had fun with his return to X, especially after the Patriots posted a photo of their longtime signal-caller while sporting longer hair during his 2010 MVP season.

Brady reposted the photo with his own tease.

“50,000 likes and I won’t retire, I’ll make them grow,” Brady posted.

Given Brady’s competitive nature, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the former QB revives another comeback attempt. Of course, that might be a bit of Brady posturing when it comes to another of his goals after his playing career: owning a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders.

Under league rules, NFL players are not allowed to own an ownership stake in a franchise. Brady is reportedly set to purchase nearly 10% of the Raiders in a deal with owner Mark Davis – but the acquisition has not been approved by the rest of the league’s owners.

“I wouldn’t say it’s a delay. We follow a very thorough process. … We’re just going through our process,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told reporters at the league’s annual meeting last month. “We have been in contact with them. I think this is making progress.
