Tom Brady doesn’t have the personality to be a good NFL analyst, according to a veteran broadcaster.

Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, is set to begin his mammoth 10-year contract with Fox next season that will earn him $375 million.

The 46-year-old has yet to prove his skills with the microphone, but hopefully his 22 years of experience as an NFL quarterback will make Fox’s games must-watch for audiences.

The pressure will be on Brady to perform almost immediately alongside play-by-play commentator Kevin Burkhardt, as he replaces Greg Olsen, who has received widespread praise for his work with Fox.

But legendary radio talk show host Mike Francesa thinks Brady will struggle as an analyst because the role requires a “unique quality” that he doesn’t possess.

When asked what he thought of Brady in the booth during a listener email segment on his BetRivers podcast, Francesa said, “I don’t think his heart is in it.

“I don’t think his personality is that. I don’t think he’ll be good at it. Truly not.

“I think you have to bring a unique quality that allows you as an analyst to see the game, see the game quickly and bring personality to it.

“It’s a tricky job for the football analyst because you’re going to spend a lot of time replaying.

“You’re going to spend a lot of time analyzing what’s happening on replay. And you also need to be very pleasant and casual in the way you do it. I don’t see it there.

Although a spot in the Fox booth awaits him, Brady discussed a possible return to the NFL at the age of 46.

Brady said earlier this month on an episode of “DeepCut” that he was “not opposed” to listening to an NFL team if they wanted him to sign with them.

Brady has already retired from the NFL twice, in February 2022 and February 2023.

His first retirement lasted 40 days, and his current absence from football lasts more than 14 months. The difference with his two retirements was filing his retirement papers with the NFL and NFLPA nine days after his second retirement.
