Tom Aspinall confirms next fight will be on blockbuster UFC card in the United Kingdom

Tom Aspinall’s next outing will feature on the UFC Manchester card this summer.

The UFC was rumored to be planning a Fight Night event in Manchester in July, but UFC president Dana White recently revealed the event had been upgraded to a pay-per-view show.

“I have an English heavyweight champion and a lot of other European stars, but two champions now outside England,” he said, referring to interim heavyweight champion Aspinall and the undisputed king of welterweight Leon Edwards.

“We are going to England, we are arriving!” I have some big fights planned for the UK fans and I’m excited to get back there.

“In a few days (we’ll make an announcement), we’ll be here working on this stuff.

“We have crazy plans for England: numbered card, pay-per-view, a great one.”

Aspinall has declared his intention to defend his belt as the UFC moves forward with Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic for the full world title.

It seems likely he will do just that when he takes center stage in Manchester in three months’ time.

Confirming his upcoming fight on social media, he said: “Alright, I just got back from Vegas, I was there doing YouTube stuff, that’s all.

“I’m not talking about the UFC. It’s now been confirmed that I’m fighting UFC Manchester, so I’m back home preparing for that now.

“We’re still in the early stages of training camp, I’m just waiting for my opponent to agree. So stay tuned. Keep up the social activities.

“Continue your YouTube channel and I will announce it very soon.”
