Todd and Julie Chrisley sentenced to years in prison in tax evasion case

Judgment is for Todd and Julie Chrisley.
Following the Chrisley knows best the stars’ fraud convictions in June, a judge sentenced them to several years in prison on November 21.
Todd was sentenced to 12 years behind bars, with Julie getting a seven-year reprieve, the US attorney’s office told NBC News.
After being federally charged in August 2019, the couple were found guilty by a suspended Atlanta jury of 12 counts, including wire fraud and conspiracy to commit bank fraud, on 7 June, although they pleaded not guilty.
Following the court’s decision earlier this summer, Todd’s attorney Bruce Morris says E! News that the couple are considering appealing the case.
However, Kate Mangels—a lawyer unaffiliated with the case—noted to E! News that there is “a very low percentage of appeals that are granted.”
Kate, Associate Solicitor at Kinsella Weitzman Iser Kump Holley LLP, continued: “There is so much evidence adduced that while perhaps a piece of evidence has been misrepresented or a witness has been excluded, an appellate court could always say at the end of the day it wasn’t substantial and it wasn’t prejudicial so even if we find a mistake we’re not going to quash and we’re not going to retrial.”
