The Titans had private training with the quarter-tree in Miami Cam Ward. They will not have a private training with the quarter-rear of Colorado SheDer Sanders.
Via Jim Wyatt from the team’s official website, the Titans and Sanders has agreed to cancel Private training after Friday’s pro day.
“The Titans saw 4 years of play film, have spotted several games and have now attended a professional day which they described as very impressive,” said Wyatt.
However, private training provides an overview that cannot be obtained by watching a film, attending games and / or testimony to a Pro Day scripted training. And they occur without anyone knowing what has been said or made to make the team more, or less, inclined to take the player.
Regardless of the rotation that the team will set in motion, the decision sends a message that the titans will not choose Sanders.
And this is where the 3D failures of the strategy project become potentially relevant. If the Titans exchange the first global choice with a team that wants to arise and choose Ward, the Titans would still need a quarter. And so, as they willingly take a later place, they would have a flashing red light concerning the possibility of choosing Sanders. Which would make them a main candidate to jump by another team who thinks that their plan B would be shelder.
Alternatively, it could be as simple as titans knowing that they want Ward. Or it could have happened because Sanders or someone close to him (like his father, deion) asking the Titans if there is a chance that the titans will take SheDer on Ward – and the Titans would not persuade Sanders or someone close to him (like his father, deion) – that there is a chance that they take SheDer on Ward.
However, this decision will be widely considered as a message that the titans do not plan to write Sanders. This could become very relevant if / when they exchange higher choice and Sanders slips wherever the titans will choose after trade.
