It’s time for the weekend, but it’s also time to keep playing Strands. We’ve got some tips and answers for you if you need them below. But first…
How to play strands
The New York Times’ Strands puzzle is a classic crossword game. It’s currently in beta, meaning it won’t be available unless enough people play it each day.
There is a new Strands game to play every day. The game will present you with a six by eight grid of letters. The goal is to find a group of words that have something in common and you will have an idea of what that theme is. When you find a thematic word, it will remain highlighted in blue.
You will also need to find a special word called spangram. This tells you what the words have in common. The spangram connects two opposite sides of the board. Although theme words are not a proper noun, spangram can be a proper noun. When you find the spangram, it remains highlighted in yellow.
Be warned: you will need to be on your guard.
“Some themes are sentences to complete. They can also be steps in a process, elements that all belong to the same category, synonyms or homophones,” notes the New York Times. “Just as she varies the difficulty of Wordle puzzles in a week, (Tracy Bennett, editor-in-chief of Wordle and Strands) plans to issue challenges to Strands solvers from time to time. »

It’s time to get into spoiler territory because we’re going to start with the spangram and then move on to the answers below. The spangram is:

This was fun! I really like space, so I enjoyed the theme. I didn’t really understand until my first clue I found was the MOON, but everything went pretty well after that.
These are pretty basic words about space, as we don’t go into much detail with nebulae, binary stars, black holes and the like, just the basics, which makes most of these words quite easy.
