Tina Turner cover for Golden Buzzer by Pranysqa Mishra, age 9

Pranysqa Mishra can sing R&B/Soul like no one else. The 9-year-old, with her soft and deceptive voice, blew the audience away. America’s Got Talent The judges were treated to incredibly powerful voices and confident presence. We think Heidi Klum spoke for the entire audience when she said, “Oh my God, I didn’t expect this. You expect a lot of things, but I didn’t expect this.”

Appearing on stage like “an angel,” as Simon Cowell put it, in a ruffled dress and bow, the Tampa, Florida native appeared nervous before surprising everyone by singing a Tina Turner song with the fierce sass of a rock star.

“I’ll be really nervous about Simon because, like, if someone makes a little mistake…” she said in a backstage interview when her little sister interrupted, encouraging her to go for the “GB” (Golden Buzzer, for those of us who don’t know). Her mom and dad were also there, cheering on their feel for the song.

Who inspired Pranysqa Mishra’s singing career?

Pranysqa’s passion for singing goes back as far as she can remember, and she’s accomplished a lot in just a few years, singing national anthems for major sports teams in the NBA, NHL, MLB and more.

“I have always loved singing. It makes me happy. Even when I was four years old, I would pretend to have a microphone and sing as if I was singing for the whole world,” she enthuses.

Pranysqa credits her grandmother as her main inspiration and the driving force behind her budding career. She was also the one Pranysqa named after her immediately. ACT performance.

“My grandmother always tells me to sing at the top of my lungs and one day I’ll have a big stage,” she said before the audition, adding: “My dream is coming true. I can’t believe it.”

What song did Pranysqa Mishra sing?

The elementary school student performed a version of “River Deep Mountain High” in front of the judges that was unlike any other version you’ll ever hear. For the record, we’ve never seen Heidi dance like that at the judges’ table before, and even Sofia Vergara shouted “Bravo!” after the performance.

Released in 1966 by Ike and Tina Turner, the song is widely considered one of the greatest singles of all time and a musical tour de force thanks to Tina’s vocals. As Pranysqa fearlessly sang “Baby, baby, baby,” any shyness immediately disappeared. In addition to Tina Turner, she has also cited Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston as her all-time favorites.

Why did Heidi Klum give Pranysqa Mishra a Golden Buzzer?

Anyone who can convey that kind of emotion in one minute on stage deserves a Golden Buzzer and more. When Heidi asked Pranysqa how she felt about being on the “biggest stage in the world,” the little girl replied, “I was scared and, of course, I was very excited.” Proving that fear can’t stop you, she sang the song with such confidence that she received a standing ovation.

As the golden confetti rained down on Pranysqa, she began to cry tears of joy and shake, clearly in shock at having landed the “GB.” The tears were contagious, as her family wept as they joined her on stage for a round of hugs. Afterwards, Pranysqa and Heidi made a video call to her grandmother with the epic news, who also joined in the tears. We have a feeling it won’t be long before we hear from this remarkable singer, and in the meantime, the Mishra family needs to stock up on tissues.
