Even though Timothée Chalamet opted for sensible transportation for his latest red carpet, apparently no good deed goes unpunished.
After the Oscar nominee arrives at Tuesday’s London premiere A complete stranger riding a Lime bike, he revealed he was fined £65 (about $79) for parking incorrectly on the ride.
“It’s ecological!” » explained Chalamet on the French talk show Daily of why he jumped on the bike. “It was horrible, because it was actually a kind of advertisement for them.”
He noted that he chose not to take a car to the BFI Southbank premiere due to traffic jam.
Chalamet’s bike ride comes after he earned a Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in writer-director James Mangold’s biopic. A complete stranger.
Currently showing in theaters, the biopic follows an enigmatic 19-year-old from Minnesota who arrives in New York in 1961 with his guitar and his revolutionary talent, destined to change the course of American music. He formed intimate relationships with Greenwich Village music icons during his meteoric rise, culminating in a groundbreaking and controversial performance that reverberated around the world.
A complete stranger also stars Edward Norton as Pete Seeger, Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez, Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo, Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash, Will Harrison as Bob Neuwirth and more Again.
Chalamet previously told Deadline on the red carpet of the film’s Los Angeles premiere that he worked with Norton on their portraits: “We were like a threat to Jim because we were always trying to slip things in and honor these incredible artists. My favorite thing about Edward in the production of this film and also after this one, is that he really wanted to honor the spirit of Bob – who is very much alive – and of Pete Seeger through this press, and not not compromise the reason why we’re ultimately here, the kind of pure values that you kind of have to embrace when you release a film. But I think Edward was always very lucid about it.
