Timo Werner sent off after just 31 minutes of north London derby following major injury at Tottenham

Tottenham were dealt a blow to Timo Werner just half an hour into their north London derby against Arsenal.

The German, on loan from RB Leipzig, started in the front three for the clash but had to be withdrawn early.

Werner appeared to have a muscle problem and had to make way, with Brennan Johnson replacing him.

That summed up a torrid first half for Spurs who stayed behind after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg headed into his own net from a corner.

Bukayo Saka doubled Arsenal’s lead before Kai Havertz added the third as half-time approached.
