DENVER – The NBA suspended the Naz Center Reid and the Donte Donte Divincenzo each for a match following an altercation between the Timberwolves players and several members of the Pistons during the Victory of Detroit on Sunday.
The two missed Tuesday’s match in Denver while the Wolves started a five -game road trip.
“A little awaited,” said coach Chris Finch before Tuesday’s match. “Happy that we were able to get news early enough so that we can plan, adjust us and continue.”
For the pistons, the Isaiah Stewart center was suspended two games while striker Ronald Holland II and goalkeeper Marcus Sasser were each suspended a match.
The dust started in the second quarter, when Holland hung Reid with 8 minutes, 36 seconds to play, and Reid pointed out and confronted Holland after the room. Divincenzo then pushed Holland, which, according to the NBA, degenerated the incident, and the fight spread in the stands nearby when the players broke.
Divincenzo and Reid both fell while Sasser and Stewart entered the fray. The players, the staff and the security then tried to break it.
“This is the cost of doing business right now, really,” said Finch. “We are not disappointed (in them). We are disappointed, obviously, they will not be with us this evening. But that is part of the landscape of the game.
“… Many teams are playing for many things right now, so there could always be a tilting point. We just have to be aware of going ahead, but we are not angry with them.”
