Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn published a reality verification at Tim Tszyu before one of the most important fights in Australia’s career.
The legendary matchroom promoter believes that the “jury is released” on the references of the “Taker of the Soul” as world class champion.
Tszyu, a former WBO’s average junior weight champion, is trying to bounce back after two successive defeats this Sunday, when he faces the American fighter Joey Spencer in Newcastle.
The fight is dangerous for Tszyu. His career is currently on the strings, having lost against Sebastian Fundora and Bakhram Murtazaliev in 2024. A third defeat against Spencer could hinder the chances of Tszyu in the Australian to return to the Summit of Sport.
“It was a bad blow that he obtained the last time. A very bad blow, “said Hearn, speaking of his defeat by Murtazaliev at the Daily Telegraph.
During this fight, Tszyu was sent to the canvas three times in the second round before being beaten by a technical blow in the third.

“I think it’s just to say that the jury is still on Tim Tszyu,” added Hearn.
“The reality is that Tim can win these elite level battles … because it’s another whole level.
“This upcoming fight should be good for Tim. He should beat Spencer, but the problem for Tim is that he is now going back to the world fringes.
“There is no shame in there.
“Sometimes you go to this global level and you are just not good enough.”
Tszyu lost its average WBO Junior weight title against Fundora in 2024, supporting a horror cut on his head after catching an accidental elbow of the American during the fight.
The 30-year-old combat record is now at 24-2, and although Hearn believes that he is a courageous athlete who has a lot of heart, there is a blatant problem that has retained it.
“Tim is a good fighter, but I’m worried about the way he fights,” added Hearn.

“I am worried about the wars in which he (tszyu) was and how it could affect his resistance,” said Hearn
“I am worried about the wars in which he was and how it could affect his resistance.
“Australian boxing fans talk about Tim Tszyu, but each time he goes worldwide, a world level, he fought.
“When you stay in Australia and beat marginal world guys, you think you are invincible and you fight a certain style.
“Tim thought he was too big, too strong and could cross anyone. Then he faces a guy like Murtazaliev and you think that Bloody Hell, there is another level of beast there.
Tszyu claimed that the Mountazaliev fight had an impact on his career or his current state of mind.
But Hearn added: “Tim is a real fighter with a real heart but sometimes you can get away.
“There is a massive difference between fighting on the Australian market, then going to the world scene. You can’t just browse people at this level.
Tszyu had already planned to move to Florida before his fight with Fundora to improve his chances of fighting on the world stage.

But these plans were suspended after his defeat by Murtazaliev. Tszyu was also married to her fiancée Alexandra Constantine in summer, thus delaying the plans even more.
“The promoters of Tim (no limit) have done an excellent job with him, he needs a victory in confidence against Spencer, then I would bring him back to America.
“The only thing is that he is an essential television, Tim will not find it difficult to get opportunities because people think they can beat him and it is good to look at.
“But Tim cannot afford too much fights like this loss of Bakhram, this can shorten his career.”
Tszyu knows better than anyone’s permutations of this fight.
“He’s a sink or swim now,” said Aussie.
“If I want to prove myself on this world scene, I need to demolish this guy.
“The pressure built of diamonds, I do not feel the pressure but sometimes you need it and I am ready for that.
