The 15-time major winner is set to compete for the first time since the Genesis Invitational in February, where he withdrew in the second round due to illness.

Woods has only played in one serious event since undergoing ankle surgery after withdrawing from the 2023 Masters.

To keep up with the biggest names in modern golf, the 48-year-old is reportedly making a big lifestyle change for Masters week.

“He’s focused,” a friend of Woods’s told the New York Post. “He works very hard in the gym. He eats well. He even eliminated sex.

“He does this now when he prepares: no sex until after the tournament. He doesn’t want anything to make him lose his concentration. »

Woods’ golf career was derailed in recent years after a life-threatening car accident in February 2022.

Many expected his professional golf career to end, but the American managed to get into incredible shape.

Although Woods now only competes in the biggest events, his legacy is assured: he has won 82 PGA Tour events, earned more than £120 million on Tour and has five Masters victories (1997, 2001, 2002 , 2005, 2019).

This latest Masters title still gives current fans hope that Woods can return to the form that made him the undisputed greatest golfer in the world and a must-watch every time he was on television.

When Woods hits the course next week at Augusta, he will be making his 26th appearance at the Masters.

Woods is one of only three golfers in history to have at least four Green Jackets, joining Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer.

According to his friend, Woods has supreme focus heading into the most anticipated tournament on the golf calendar.

“The Masters is Tiger’s must-see event every year,” the friend said. “He works very hard, spends hours in the gym, training and taking care of himself. He wants to play and he always plays to win.
