Tiger Woods breaks record and makes Masters history after overcoming Augusta marathon

Tiger Woods will break the record for consecutive cuts made at the Masters after overcoming a marathon at Augusta.

The five-time champion finished the second round at +1, and with the cut line currently projected at +4, he is all but guaranteed to play the weekend for the 24th consecutive time.

Woods will break the all-time record of 23 consecutive cuts, which he previously shared with Fred Couples and Gary Player.

That’s despite being forced to play 23 holes Friday with little or no recovery time after a rain delay pushed back tee times Thursday.

The 15-time major champion finished the first round at +1 and fought through his battered body in windy conditions to shoot a brilliant level par 72 in the second round.

The 48-year-old hasn’t missed a race at Augusta since his first victory in 1997 – including three appearances since a near-fatal car crash in 2021.
