Tiger Woods abstaining from sex while training for Masters: pal

Tiger Woods is preparing to compete in the Masters tournament next week and is taking drastic measures to ensure he is ready to play.

“He is focused,” confides a friend of the 48-year-old golfer. “He works very hard in the gym. He eats well. He even eliminated sex.

“He does this now when he prepares: no sex until after the tournament. He doesn’t want anything to make him lose his concentration. »

Woods is currently single. His six-year relationship with girlfriend Erica Herman – a former waitress at his restaurant in Jupiter, Florida – ended acrimoniously in 2023.

She sued him, demanding $30 million to try to get out of a non-disclosure agreement she had signed, but dropped the case in November last year. Woods also previously dated skier Lindsey Vonn.

When asked by the Post if Woods was currently dating him, his friend hesitated, saying “there’s no one to talk to.”

Tiger’s publicist did not respond to calls or requests for comment from The Post.

Woods has not officially announced that he will participate in the Masters, but he is privately telling those close to him that he will participate, according to the friend.

He flew to Georgia this weekend and played a round at Augusta National, where the tournament is being held, which appears to signal his interest.

If Woods plays the Masters, it will be the 26th time for the five-time champion, who last won the tournament in 2019.

Woods’ bid for the 2023 Masters was cut short when he withdrew after 54 holes due to plantar fasciitis. Since then, he has kept a low profile over the past year.

Woods has long maintained that the Masters is his favorite tournament.

“I’ve always loved this golf course and I love playing this event,” Woods told reporters during his second round in 2023. “Obviously I’ve missed a few with a few injuries, but I always wanted to play here. . I love it.”

After his sex scandal in 2009, he took a five-month break from the sport, but made his return at the 2010 Masters. Despite increasing health problems in recent years, Woods has never skipped a Masters. He only missed the cut once, in 1996.

“The Masters is Tiger’s must-see event every year,” says the insider. “He works very hard, spends hours in the gym, training and taking care of himself. He wants to play and he always plays to win.
