Three Starfy Game Boy Advance games never released in the US are now available on Nintendo Switch Online

Nintendo has added three new games to its Nintendo Switch Online library for Game Boy Advance, and while none of them are Mother 3 (or a Pokémon game or Astro Boy or Drill Dozer or whatever other GBA game we’ve been clamoring for), they’re nonetheless interesting and completely unexpected.

Starfy isn’t a franchise that’s particularly well-known to American gamers. They received four games—three for Game Boy Advance, one for DS—but only the 2009 DS game was released in America. Now, all three original Game Boy Advance games are now available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. The games retain their original title, Densetsu no Stafy, and have not been localized. The gameplay has been described as Kirby-like, but I’ve never been able to confirm that myself until today.
