Seattle – The Sounders of Seattle played their first home game in more than a month when they welcomed Nashville SC in Lumen Field on Saturday evening. Thanks to Danny Musovski’s first half goals, Pedro de la Vega and Paul Rothrock, the Sounders won a 3-0 victory, making these consecutive victories and clean sheets.
Nashville came out of the hot doors while they controlled most of the action during the first 15 minutes, but frustration seemed to lead to indiscipline for visitors because their control did not succeed in producing a single blow. After the first 15 minutes, the Sounders began to find their foot, and – although it took a trip to the instructor for referee Ricardo Fierro to confirm it after an initial offside decision – Danny Musovski gave Seattle in the 19th minute. The deliberate possession of the Sounders leads to a crossing of Paul Rothrock in Jesus Ferreira. Ferreira struck a first shot that seemed likely to be saved, Musovski entered to put the ball with a little blow. The AR has increased the out-of-game flag, but the reruns have shown that Andy Najar had clearly kept Musovski next to it and the goal was finally counting.
With the smell of goals in the air, the Sounders continued to push for more while Nashville left open in search of a breakthrough. Cristian Roldan had a good appearance from the outside of the region at the 23 and 24th minute, then in the 30th minute Pedro de la Vega tried an angry goal which left waves of Catharsis undulating through the net and out of the stadium. Roldan won the ball in the defensive side of Nashville and played a penetrating pass for Obed Vargas to take place; Vargas took the ball at the end line and reduced it to the penalty area where Vega was the first to run there and put all his repressed emotions from last year and to change to score his first goal to MLS Play and to do 2-0 for the Sounders.
There would only be 2-0 left for a few minutes, however. In the 34th minute, from the Vega found Ferreira who ran in the area and Ferreira in turn turned Rothrock on the left. Rothrock took a touch inside the area, then wound a shot around Joe Willis and at the back of the net to complete the score. Sam Surridge had a pair of dangerous looks in the last minutes of half-time, but Stefan Frei proposed the necessary backup on the two accounts to preserve the laundering at halftime.
Seattle continued to push to add to their count, but despite Jordan Morris, Albert Rusnak and beginner Ryan Kent Rusnák in the attack as a submi-time, they could not find a fourth goal. The best chances of the second half involved these submarines, because Kent almost played Ferreira with a small interchange and Morris and Morris had a pair of looks that forced Willis at quality stops. Alex Roldan also entered the game as a submin, marking significant progress on the health front for Seattle.
The Sounders will then leave on the road to face the Rapids of Colorado on April 26.

Rapid thoughts
Make a show for house fans: During the 17 home games in the regular season of Sounders in 2024, the team only managed to score a total of 25 goals. It is a thin hair less than 1.5 goals per game. Until now, in four home games, the Sounders have scored more than 2 goals in three of these games with 10 goals in total, highlighted by the effusion of three goals today. With the team that ends in shape, making healthy players and joining Ryan Kent, there are many reasons to hope that this type of production can be maintained. This victory could have been quite easily an even greater score with a slightly different finish or decision -making, and these things will come over time. For the moment, we will appreciate today’s performance, however.
Jesús comes to life: Jesús Ferreira had her brand on a few goals this season, but had only provided one pass in the League in this match. He collected two assists this evening, providing crucial contributions to the opening goal and the third, and almost had a chance for his own goal at the end of the match, but could not quite put himself at the end of a Col de Ryan Kent before Joe Willis collects him. He is still waiting for his first official goal in Rave Green, but Ferreira begins to really find his place with the Sounders and the players around him collect the awards. He found a better adequacy with greater freedom when he does not have to direct the line, but rather guys like Morris or Musovski who work as a fixed point that he can bypass.
Get more from the midfield: Double pivot is a crucial part of how the probers play. Pedro de la Vega, in its post-match availability, suggested that when these players play well, the team plays well and vice versa. The role and responsibility are enormous, because they are key elements of the way in which the Sounders defend as well as the possession of the ball, and should also contribute more to the attack than in recent seasons. This attacking contribution begins to pass, while Obed Vargas provided assistance on Seattle’s second goal with a large race and a pass, and Cristian Roldan provided defensive contributions that have directly led to Seattle objectives. Roldan has also approached the beach shots several times in the last two games while the Sounders are looking to add real threats from outside the team’s toolbox. It is not surprising that performances in the midfield has improved in recent weeks, the same goes for the results of the team.
Notable quote
Brian Schmetzer – “I want our players at home … Discover the tempo … Do everything we can to win games, of course because that’s our job … that’s what we want to do: entertain the fans.”
Player spotlight
Pedro de la Vega – Score your first open goal and your first home goal in the league, you get the spotlight. You could feel emotion in his goal of Olympia when he absolutely gave the shit of this ball.
