Threads unveils a new search option

After adding a web version last week, Meta’s “Twitter Killer” announced this week that a new search function will soon be added to the app.

Currently, Threads users can only search for usernames on the app. The next step will also be specific publications.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the change in a post on the platform, saying, “Get excited: Search is coming to Threads. »

The company has tested this feature in Australia and New Zealand. Other countries will join, but start dates are pending.

After a breakthrough launch this month, Threads has seen a steady decline in daily active users. Most users were disappointed with the lack of features and the global nature of the site compared to Twitter, now X.

Meta management seemed to listen to user requests and added features including a browser version of the platform.
