Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chairman Sharad Pawar said on Tuesday that those who have “betrayed” his ideology should not use his photo.
“Only the party of which I am the national president and Jayant Patil the state president can use my photo,” he told reporters here.
During his lifetime, it was his prerogative to decide who should use his photograph, Pawar said.
“Those who have betrayed my ideology and with whom I have ideological differences cannot use my photo,” the veteran leader added.
It comes days after his nephew Ajit Pawar and eight other Nationalist Congress Party MPs joined the BJP-Shiv Sena government in Maharashtra.
The Ajit Pawar faction also deposed Jayant Patil as chairman of the state NCP. Patil, on the other hand, submitted a petition to the Speaker of the Assembly to disqualify Ajit and his associates.
