Justin Thomas equaled the record for the course to take a three -stroke advance after the first round at the RBC Heritage.

Thomas manufactured 11 birdies in a 61 sub-parameter 61 at Harbor Town Golf Links in South Carolina.
The 31 -year -old American, who has been looking for his first victory since his second major in the US PGA 2022 championship, is leading compatriots Russell Henley and the world number one Scottie Scheffler.
The former champion of the United States Open Wyndham Clark is a shot further, while Matt Fitzpatrick in England is part of one in five under a 66 opening.
Justin Rose is in equality for 10th after reaching 67 in his first round since his loss against Rory McILroy in Play-Off to the Masters.
Thomas fixed the pace with six birdies on the first nine, before recovering from a Bogey on the 10th by hitting five birdies in six holes on the nine rear.

“I feel like I’m not doing anything crazy,” said Thomas.
“I led the ball well, which is very, very important here, and I felt that it was only one of those days when I put the ball in a place where I had a lot of good figures.”
