Thanksgiving week will be mostly sunny, with temperatures between 40-40C and possible rain and snow on Thursday and Friday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Sunday and Monday are shaping up to be the coldest days of the week thanks to cold gusts of wind.

“Sunday will be the coldest day of the weekend as winds will blow up to 30 mph causing the wind chill to drop into the low 20s and even the teens around Sunday evening,” the NWS office said at Boston. tweeted.

But when it comes to busy holiday days, forecasters are expecting dry, storm-free conditions.

“[Week Ahead Into Thanksgiving] Mostly dry but cold weather is expected to continue through Thanksgiving. Other than a passing rain/snow shower; dry weather prevails. No significant storms expected until Thanksgiving with calm weather for travel in #SNE Tuesday and Wednesday,” tweeted the NWS.

AAA expects nearly 55 million Americans to travel 50 miles or more over the holiday long weekend, which is near pre-pandemic levels.

Day-to-day forecasts

The Boston NWS office predicts Sunday will be sunny and windy, with highs near 39 and wind gusts of up to 36 mph. The Sunday evening low will fall to around 24; the rest of the weeknight lows will be in the mid-30s.

Monday will be sunny, with highs around 41. Winds will persist Monday, gusting up to 25 mph.

Tuesday warms up a bit, with highs near 46 and sunny skies. Wednesday will be even warmer, with highs near 50 and lots of sunshine.

Thursday, which is Thanksgiving, will be bright, with highs around 45. There’s a 30% chance of rain and light snow Thursday evening.

Friday has a 50 per cent chance of rain and strong winds up to 24 mph, although it is the hottest day of the week, with a high near 52.

Looking ahead to next weekend, AccuWeather predicts Saturday, November 26 will be partly sunny with a few showers and highs of 45. Next Sunday, November 27, will be dry with a mix of cloud and sun and a maximum of 43.
