This water park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is set to open. Three of its slides are under construction

Myrtle Waves Water Park will open May 11 but without three of its water slides.

Riptide Rockets, Turbo Twister and the new Wild Water Racer are still under construction and will not be available until Memorial Day weekend, according to a message sent by Myrtle Waves Water Park.

“Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation as we navigate a major construction project these past few weeks while opening our doors,” the statement said.

The Wild Water Racer will debut at Myrtle Waves, 3000 Mr. Joe White Ave., this year after being removed from Wild Water and Wheels, a Surfside Beach water park that closed in 2022. Myrtle Waves has more than 20 water slides, as well as a wave pool and artificial river.

The water park will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on select days in May and hours will be extended in June. Ticket prices range from $21.99 to $49.99 per person.
