This video recaps 10 years of Destiny storytelling in 10 hours

Curious about Destiny 2’s latest expansion, but don’t know where to start? One of Destiny’s most dedicated fans, My name is Byf, put together a 10-hour video to bring new players (and – let’s be real – existing players too) up to speed on the science shooter’s complex storyline -fiction.

The video is particularly timely given that Sony is offering all Playstation and PC players limited-time access to three Destiny 2 expansions – The Witch Queen, Beyond Light and Shadowkeep – before The Final Shape arrives next week . Byf says the video details “the complete story of Destiny”, from the origins of The Witness, and includes the full timeline of major events that will happen in the game, as well as additional stories and storylines.

And there’s clearly an appetite for videos from Byf – known in the community as “Lore Daddy”.

“Yesterday seemed unreal, but waking up to the video being trending and a quarter of a million views in less than 24 hours… it seems pretty real,” Byf said of the video, which has now surpassed 300,000 seen in just over a year. day. “Thanks for making this launch as successful as possible. Destiny 2 will be offline for 25 hours before the launch of its latest expansion, The Final Shape.

The downtime – which is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. UK time on June 3 (i.e. 9 a.m. Pacific, 12 p.m. ET) and end at 7 p.m. on June 4 – is necessary to prepare for the new expansion, which is expected occupy at least 129 GB of free space on each platform and almost 300 GB on Steam.
