This new Battlefield 6 skin is causing a meltdown

Only one new skin that will be added to Battlefield 6 in the near future, has ignited a firestorm online among its devoted fans, who are on the lookout for any sign that EA is going to fill the game with wacky outfits.

Before Battlefield 6 Launched earlier this month to a huge number of players and positive reviews, the developers behind the online FPS milsim have repeatedly suggested that cosmetic skins in BF6 would not feature exaggerated crossovers with celebrities or cartoons. This was a direct response to how players had become frustrated with the weirder skins being added to Battlefieldthe competitor of, Call of duty, over the last few years. This started an entire skin saga that even saw the next Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 go back on his plans for wacky skins and promise to do better. At launch, players were mostly happy BF6Realistic skins. But previews of the first season have started to appear on the web, and a new skin seems to have caught the attention of thousands of players.

On October 22, Reddit user Ohforfk posted a screenshot of a single blue soldier skin with a skull-shaped mask. The screenshot appears to have been taken from this PC gamer article about the new skins coming in the first season. The Reddit post, titled “‘Skins blocked for a while’ – 18 days exactly,” is a response to some players who claimed the game would have skins blocked for a while or suggested that EA wouldn’t add wacky skins right away.

“So, weren’t we supposed to have realistic skins for a while?” » posted Ohforfk. “Something that someone would actually wear in the war? Yet it seems that with the start of Season 1, everything is going to turn into a colorful mess, with no way to differentiate teams based on uniforms and (the) game looking more like (a) paintball event. Weapons colored with pictures, colorful camouflages with neon accents, looking straight out of ASG or paintball. People have been convinced by a vision of the game resembling a real battlefield, with soldiers not a bunch of hikers like in 2042Yet it was all a lie and it will only get worse as time goes on – the beta, with all the soldiers wearing matching uniforms, was the most immersive experience, you can say goodbye to that atmosphere. There will be no uniforms matching biomes, there will be no way to turn off the typical horrible skins, bait and switches.

The post has over 6,000 upvotes and nearly 2,000 comments, many of which agree with Ohforfk’s thoughts, with the most popular reply stating: “Dude that looks fucking stupid. God, this game makes BF1 look like a work of art. Many other comments are also angry and disappointed about the blue uniform, seen as a Halloween gift for BF6 players. And while some point out that this skin, as well as the other skins from the first season, are still pretty solid compared to what you might see in most other AAA online shooters, the reality is that the world’s most dedicated players Battlefield the community doesn’t want colorful skins like this.

This skin also sparked a debate about what “grounded” means. For some, this new blue BF6 the skin is actually quite grounded and feels like something that fits into the game world. For others, it’s a parody that ruins their immersion, and it’s way too weird and colorful. No matter how you feel, I don’t envy Battlefield 6Artists and developers must walk what may be the tightest and most difficult tightrope in the video game industry today. Good luck there.
