During an appearance Tuesday on Fox News Channel’s “The Faulkner Focus”, Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) slammed on President Joe Biden for handling inflation and the supply chain crisis by its administration.
According to Biggs, the Biden administration is “desperate” because the American people are unhappy with rising inflation and rising gas prices. He added that the administration “has no answers” to resolve the price hike.
“The reality is that when you flood the economy with dollars, you devalue our currency, and that’s the ultimate driver of inflation. This is the classic definition of inflation. Then you could hide that a bit if we were still energy independent. But this rising energy is also fueling inflationary pressure. “
Fox News’ Martha MacCallum asked Biggs if Biden immediately opposed releasing oil from the Strategic Oil Reserve as part of an effort to bring down high gas prices, but doing so anyway.
“They are desperate,” Biggs replied. “They are desperate because gasoline prices keep going up at the pumps, and when people feel it, they are really tight against the administration – but releasing 50 million barrels. You know, Martha, we use 20 million barrels a day. So you could get relief for two and a half days. But it is a desperate administration that has no answers for this. The answer, of course, is exploration drilling, the Keystone pipeline, and let us let the US energy sector go again, but they won’t.
