“This Cut Is Disgusting”: Pros React To Jean Silva’s Bloody Win Over Drew Dober At UFC Denver

Jean Silva went from knocking out Charles Jourdain at UFC 303 to stopping another veteran in a higher weight class two weeks later, and he did it in memorable fashion.

Silva faced Drew Dober in a Fight of the Night that earned him the title of Best Opponent of the Night in the headline fight at UFC Denver on Saturday. Subbing for Mike Davis at the last minute, Silva nearly finished Dober late in the second round, but also opened up a nasty cut on Dober’s eyebrow that continued to get worse as the fight went on.

After landing a vicious spinning elbow in the third round, Dober’s cut to the eye was breathtaking, and although the local boxer tried to keep fighting and hide it from the referee, he was unable to do so. The fight was eventually stopped at 1:28 of round 3, giving Silva the biggest win of his career to date.
