Thiago Silva has revealed he has made a decision about his future at Chelsea and fans will learn whether he will stay or leave the club in the coming days.
This came after the 39-year-old defender was seen in tears after Mauricio Pochettino’s side failed to book their place in the FA Cup final on Saturday, having suffered a 1-0 defeat at Wembley against Manchester City.
The Brazilian, who played the full 90 minutes of Saturday’s match, is in the final months of his contract at Chelsea and much speculation is swirling around whether their star centre-back will leave the club this summer.
His wife, Belle, apparently hinted at his departure yesterday, posting a photo on social media of herself in the stands, with the caption “It’s the last dance at Wembley…”
After the match, the Brazil international, still upset by the defeat, was asked by journalists if he knew what his future would look like. He said Hayters TV: ‘You will find out in the coming days.

“I don’t want to say anything now, my head buried in defeat, a little sadness.
“But sooner or later it will happen. The news will come out.
He was then asked if he had made any final decisions regarding his future, replying: “I have already made a decision in my head.
“I don’t think it’s cool that a lot of people are talking about it. I’m sorry. Soon you will know.
Earlier this year, the centre-back admitted his professional career was “almost over”.
“I don’t have anything planned for later, I’m just looking to have fun,” he told Hayters TV in January, when asked if he might end up returning to Brazil to finish his career.
“We know it’s almost over, but it’s not the end yet. So choose the right time. I’m still able to maintain a good performance, my numbers are good and that gives me peace of mind to continue. From now on, the future belongs to God.
He posted an emotional message on social media apologizing to Chelsea fans following the defeat.
He has remained tight-lipped about his situation, but said in January that his career was “almost over.”
“Let’s finish here, these four months and see what happens in the future, but I’m super relaxed about it.”
Silva joined Chelsea in 2020 from Paris Saint-Germain and has previously admitted it was like “love at first sight” when he arrived at Stamford Bridge.
He went on to make 149 appearances for the west London club, scoring nine goals, and admitted he dreamed of his children one day ending up for the Blues.
Last summer, the 39-year-old played down talk of a return to Brazil, saying his family was based in London.
There are rumors that he could return to finish his professional career at his former club Fluminense, with some reports claiming he has “regularly been in contact with the club president”. But Silva has so far been unwilling to comment on what his future holds.

In October, he spoke about his relationship with the club and his contract, but chose not to reveal too much about where he might move next.
“This relationship has been going on for a long time,” he told Globo Esporte. “But I prefer to remain silent for the moment, because there have already been controversies in the recent past.
