They are not only Canadians, fewer Europeans also want to visit the United States

Canadians are not the only ones to lose their appetite for vacation in the United States.

The reservations before for Europeans visiting the United States this summer fell a quarter, Sébastien Bazin CEO.

One of the largest hotel companies in the world, Accor operates more than 5,000 hotels, with brands such as luxury options like Fairmont and raffles for cheaper like Ibis.

Although the reservations before is up up to 5% overall, Bazin said to Bloomberg, there is a “fairly strong deceleration across the Atlantic”.

European customers chose rather to travel to Canada, South America and Egypt, he said.

His comments occur a week after the data has shown reserve of airlines falls for Canadians who steal in the United States.

Compared to last year, the OAG travel data company declared a 70% drop in reservations for each month until September – although I Air Canada and Westjet said that their decline was not so austere. Cirium, an aeronautical analysis company, reported a 23% drop in reservations for April.

For the moment, at least, transatlantic air routes have not known the same drop.

The corridor is a vital source of income for European airlines, and CEOs remain vigilant.

“We probably agree that something is happening.

In the same panel, the CEO of Air France-KLM, Ben Smith, described the situation as “concerning us” and added that the group of airlines looks at the “very, very closely” developments.

Europe heads in the same way as Canada

The contrast between reservations of Canadian and European airlines also corresponds to the extent of political tensions.

Trump provoked the neighbor in the north of the United States with his speech to become the 51st state, but his prices were much more harmful.

They sparked a “buying Canadian” movement of reprisals, with certain American manufacturing products, such as alcohol, withdrawn from the shelves. “The Star-Spangled Banner” was hue during sports games.

Last Thursday, Prime Minister Mark Carney said that former Canada’s relations with the United States, “depending on the deepening of the integration of our economies and tight security and military cooperation, is over”.

While tensions were also delighted with Europe, as during the visit of JD Vance in Greenland, the relationship did not reach the same boiling point.

It is very unlikely that it has been in this way for a long time since Trump announced prices on Wednesday – invoicing the European Union with a higher rate of 20%.

Even travelers who are not discouraged by American isolationism can still be wary of more severe border security.

Germany and the United Kingdom updated their travel opinions in the United States last month, warning stricter entry rules following more reports on Europeans refused to the border.

For example, the French Minister of Higher Education told Agency France-Pressse that a scientist had been denied entry to the United States after being noted having sent SMS criticizing Trump.

“Aviation is part of the globalization that we have seen growing in recent decades,” said Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury, at a company summit in Toulouse last month.

“We are obviously in a more fragmented world, and it is probably even more true day by day, and it brings challenges.”

With hotels reservations that already become ahead of an imminent trade war, transatlantic trips could be next to sink.
