The online rental marketplace recently released its 2024 fall trends and named Salem, Massachusetts, Hartford, Vermont, and Bar Harbor, Maine among its “top” fall destinations across the United States. They were chosen based on the percentage of stays for September through November 2023 compared to the rest of the year.

Fall is the most affordable time to travel, according to Airbnb, with nightly rates at their lowest compared to the rest of the year. And many people are heading to New England, as evidenced by Massachusetts and Maine ranking among the three U.S. states with the highest percentage of fall stays (the other being North Dakota).

The company has shared the following rentals located in top fall destinations in the region.

In Hartford, Vermont, people can book a newly renovated luxury home with a hot tub and panoramic views. The home has four bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen, and is less than two miles from historic downtown Quechee.

My Place, a two-bedroom condo in Salem, Massachusetts, listed on Airbnb.

For a getaway to historic Salem, known for its massive Halloween party, people can book My Place, a two-bedroom condo with parking located 1 mile from downtown Salem. The condo features two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a back patio with a private entrance.

Finally, travelers looking for a Maine getaway this fall can book Hadley Point Hideaway, a cabin near Bar Harbor, Maine. Nestled in the woods, the rental features two bedrooms, one bathroom, a high-end kitchen, a loft, and a private deck with sunset views. It’s 10 minutes from Bar Harbor and 5 minutes from Acadia National Park.
