Newark (1010 wins) – A problem of equipment replaced hundreds of flights on Monday at Newark Liberty International Airport, without any clear calendar for a resolution.
A ground stopper was published at the airport around 2 p.m. due to a failure of the Federal Aviation Administration equipment, officials said.
At 4 p.m., there were 227 delays and 18 cancellations at the airport, according to Flightaware. The average delays of departure was more than 2 hours and increased.
“Due to the failure of FAA equipment, arrivals and departures are currently delayed in EWR. Please contact your airline for flight status,” said airport managers on X.
“While the teams are trying to solve the problem, there is not yet an estimated completion time,” said officials, urging leaflets to contact their airlines for their flight status.
