The worst trilogies in the history of cinema

Based on a series of books, “divergent” was supposed to be a story with four films, but “alleging” was so badly received that the studio only made three.

After the success of the series of films like “Harry Potter”, “The Hunger Games” and “Twilight”, the studios were looking for the next big film adaptation.

Enter “Divergent” in 2014, a film that takes place in a dystopian world where society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to a specific personality trait. People who integrate into more than one category are called divergent and are considered dangerous.

If you are confused, we understand – the tradition of these films is incomprehensible. Even actors like Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Miles Teller, Zoë Kravitz and Kate Winslet could make this film interesting.

The first film did quite well, making nearly $ 290 million worldwide, so a second film, “Insurgent”, was made in 2015. When it did not do much more than “divergent”, it became clear that the series was in difficulty.

“Allegiant” was released in 2016 and did less than his predecessors. He was also badly received by fans and criticism.

It was announced that the last episode, “ascending”, would go directly to streaming, but some distribution members would not have been on board with this decision, so the story of Tris (Woodley) will remain unfinished on the screen forever.

It could be a good thing – fans have largely abjured the conclusion of the book series.
