The restaurateur Omid Zahedi, who transformed the historic station of San Mateo station into a huge restaurant and bar with an outside meal during the pandemic, has now renovated a spacious Santa Clara place for its roasted baux coast in wood, its pizza and its fish, as well as the house house for the house with the house with the house. The second wood fire – at Rivermark Plaza, in the old Piatti – opened in stages, giving staff time to accumulate in full capacity. There are now seats available for around 200 guests inside the restaurant, with a modern and-uustical design that corresponds to high comforting food. The patio can accommodate nearly 100 others.

Zahedi grew up in the fast food pizza sector – his Iranian immigrant father opened Pizzerias after coming to this country – but chose the field of financial services for his career. Years later, he developed a passion for “The New Wave of Fine Pizza” and built a brick oven on a trailer to practice family, friends and serve during charitable events.

Once the recipes are perfected, he and his wife Susan Payrovi launched their first restaurant, Rise Pizzeria, in downtown Burlingame in 2017. The site of San Mateo station opened its doors in early 2021.

The South Bay menu corresponds to the Peninsula one. Pizzas include combinations such as Medjool Date-Chevre, Funghi-Fontina, Calabres-Honey and Artichoke-Spinach. There is even the roasted pineapple in fire for spicy pizza of Hawaiian style.

The whole roasted wooden branzino, served at the top of the Romesco sauce, was particularly popular with the crowd of Santa Clara, he said. Rib Prime is available as a French dip sandwich, and the roasted chicken is delivered with two sides and a soaking sauce. Chicken and spicy wings at Tandoori will soon join the menu.
